Makes sense, right? I mean, we all want to know how much we can get paid.
Now, before we begin, I want you to think about something. Your career coach salary depends on you. It depends on how you price your career coaching services. It depends on how well you build your coaching brand.
And, how well you get coaching clients online and offline.
So, when I go over these numbers, don't get too caught up on the actual values. It just gives you a good idea of how much you can make as a career coach.
How Much Do Career Coaches Make
Now, according to the PayScale, the salary of a career coach can range from $33,000 to almost $71,000 per year. See, this huge range shows that your salary as a career coach depends on you.
Career Coach Average Salary
PayScale lists a career coach average salary of around $44,000. This seems a little low for the for the coaching profession. We’ll talk about this more below.
Career Coach Hourly Rate
Again, according to PayScale, the range of a career coach hourly rate is $25 to $98.
Now, the reason behind the broad ranges is career coaches can work for universities and nonprofits. Typically, the salary and hourly rates working for a university or non-profit will be lower than working for yourself. So, the lower ends of the career coach salary and hourly rates are like career coaches working for universities and non-profits. Does that make sense?
Also, I don't think PayScale is calculating a career coach hourly rate based on any sort of pricing. Instead, I think what they're doing is using a career coach salary per year, dividing it by 52 weeks to get a weekly salary. Then, dividing the weekly salary by forty hours per week.
That produces an hourly rate, not a price!
Knowing that the career coach hourly rate is not a price makes it even more evident that how much you can make as a career coach is dependent on YOU. Your career coaching brand. Your coach pricing. And, how many clients you coach per week.
